Double Post

Yes, I am double posting. Trying to get rid of the guilt over neglecting this blog? Yes, please! So here is another one, just for fun.

While working on how-to stories, my student teacher stumbled upon this bubbliciously fun activity from The Teacher Wife.

The look on their faces when we told them they would be able to chew gum in school was hysterical. They were a Publishers Clearing House kind of happy! Oh! To be 7 again!
We got a lot of compliments on this activity and I love the way they turned out1

If your wondering about how we did the hair...we gave them the head template on cardstock and had them trace in onto a piece of paper that matched their hair color. Then we had them draw the hair, cut it out, and glue it onto the skin colored paper. There may have been an easier way, but this is what we came up with.

Wild About Books

Last month our school did our annual "let's get amped up about reading" week. This year our theme was Wild About Books. During the week we read books related to our theme and on Friday the parents join us for a read-aloud-craft-and-sing-along. Our craft this year was corn syrup painting, inspired by the girls @eighteen25. I absolutely love how they turned out...all glossy-ed up!

Here is the giraffe my sweet student teacher made to hang by our door.
